My passion is faith-based yoga, which allows one to find inner stillness in order to connect to and hear the voice of God, ( my form of bhakti yoga) while also caring for the health of the physical body. My yoga practice is an extension of my Christian worship experience and a way to celebrate the union we have with God. I also recognize that yoga allows individuals to connect to their own spirituality based on their own faith and experience, and I teach to that human desire to connect with the divine. I teach both Yin and Vinyasa yoga and am excited to join the Yoga One family in Alexandria.
I was born and raised in Iowa, and spent my summers in the Alexandria area until I graduated from college and moved to Maryland, where I spent the past 35 years. My husband and I recently retired and returned to the Midwest to settle in the Alexandria area where we can enjoy the beautiful lakes and a slower-paced lifestyle. I began my yoga journey 7 years ago, practicing with a variety of amazing teachers in several studios in the Annapolis, Maryland area. Practicing yoga became a way for me to find stillness and connect with God. I completed Evolutions 200 Hour Yin Yang Yoga training under the instruction of Tina Lanzoni in Annapolis, Maryland and am certified through Yoga Alliance.
